Terry Jones grew up and currently resides with his wife Susan and their two children near Williamsburg, IA. He attended the University of South Dakota where he studied business and was the starting offensive right tackle for the Coyotes. Terry started farming in 1983 with 92 acres. Today, with his brother Eric, the grain operation has grown to 6000 acres of corn and beans. In 1989, he incorporated his farming operation into TSJ Commodities, Ltd.. Terry and his brother Eric started J & J Cattle Company in 1993 for the cow-calf and feedlot part of the farming operation. Terry and Eric have a seed agency in Williamsburg, which was incorporated in 1999 as Precision Ag. Services. In 2001 Terry and Eric purchased the local grain elevator and started Circle J Grain. Which is a full service grain elevator. In the fall of 2003 they took advantage of the record cattle prices and sold their cow calf operation. They have started a grain hauling business to better help use their truck assets from the farm along with the grain elevator. Terry is President and Vice President of the above listed corporations. Terry does the marketing and financial management of the businesses and Eric takes care of the production side of the business. December of 1989 Terry' s operation was name the 6th best-managed farm by Farm Futures Magazine. In 1998 Terry started Russell Consulting Group with Moe Russell, which does risk management for individual family farm operations to help them market their products. Terry is a frequent speaker at many Ag-related seminars giving his advice and outlook on the markets and the business of farming.
